That’s right, friends… Elric Kane and I have returned. With a vengeance! And with Rebekah McKendry of Fangoria Magazine, who will now be a regular on the show. She’s taking over from dear Jenna in our chat booth and will have an active role with. We’re happy to have her on board.

For Season 2, we’ve changed things up a bit. You’ll hear more from myself, Elric and Rebekah opinion-wise (what we’ve seen and recommend you see or avoid, give you a rundown of the latest DVDs, and discuss newsy topics). You’ll see even more red carpet events (check out our interviews with The Devil’s Carnival cast) and come along with us on field trips (Monsterpalooza, clips coming up next week).

In this week’s episode, The Sequel, we discuss just that — what’s your favorite sequel? For me, it was kind of difficult to choose. There are so many good ones, from the classics like Bride of Frankenstein and really significant follow-ups such as Silence of the Lambs. I also enjoy Evil Dead II! But, in the end I went with my gut and chose Dario Argento’s Inferno. Watch the show to see why, and to find out what Elric and Rebekah decided on.

We talked about some current releases, and while Elric and I usually agree, this time we were divided on The Cabin In The Woods. (To get my thoughts on this film in more detail, please read my written review at horror.com)

Then we showed our exclusive video footage of The Devil’s Carnival red carpet premiere, in which we asked cast (Paul Sorvino, Terrance Zdunich, Briana Evigan, to name a few) to name off their favorite devils. You’d think it’d be easy, but some of their responses might surprise you.

We welcomed our wonderful guest, director Joe Dante, into the studio. He talked about film preservation, the current retro love for the VHS format, and spilled the beans on an upcoming film release… do watch the video for that. It’s a scoop!

We ended the show with a brand new segment, The Fast 5. In rapid fire manner, Joe was asked these questions…

1. Your first scary movie?

2. What do you fear?

3. What’s your favorite possession?

4. If you could meet anyone living or dead (or living Dead) who would it be?

5. If you could change one thing about the film industry, what would it be?

He had some great answers!

Before you watch the video, if you’re in L.A., do mark your calendars for Joe Dante’s pet project, Don’t Be Afraid of the Noir wine-tasting and film festival event. It’s the American Cinematheque’s 14th Annual Noir City Film Festival. The event – Don’t Be Afraid of the Noir – will be held Thursday April 26, 2012 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at K&L’s Hollywood location, 1400 N. Vine Street.  Tickets cost $15 per person and will be available at the door.
