Spirits of Westeros- Jon Snow Lushie

Welcome to Spirits of Westeros where host, Jessica Kinney, helps you combine the love of Game of Thrones with the love of alcohol.

This weeks drink is the Jon Snow Lushie, named for a character that has had to fight his whole life only to end up guarding a giant wall of ice.  Jon Snow was born to Ned Stark, but he was a bastard and was constantly reminded of that.  Jon was asked to represent the Starks at Castle Black, a duty that no one wants.  When he arrived at the Wall, Jon was a bit of scared and lost boy.  With the help of a few fellow newbies of the Nights Watch including the adorable Samwell Tarley and a little guidance by Jeor Mormont, he grew up fast.  He is now the new Lord Commander of Castle Black and has more influence than he ever would have, had he stayed in his home of Winterfell.  With all that power comes great responsibility…and a delicious drink named after you!  Here’s what you will need to make it:

Ingredients:

1 Cup Shaved Ice …for the snow surrounding the Wall…

2 oz Vodka

½  oz Frangelico

½ oz Amaretto

½ Kahlua

½ Cream

Instructions:

Pour liquids into a shaker.  Give a good dry shake.  Pour over a glass filled with shaved ice.

When I taste this drink, I imagine what it’s like when Jon is at the top of the wall and looking over the Northlands knowing that the White Walkers are going to be arriving soon…At least OUR winter isn’t coming for a while, so you can relax and enjoy this cool drink in the summer weather!
