The Weekend Box Office Results Are In – AMC Movie News
It was a great weekend at the box office with an almost photo finish for the #1 spot. Both GONE GIRL and ANNABELLE took in over $30 million dollars on their opening weekends, far exceeding October averages and initial projections with Ben Affleck barely edging out the creepy little doll. GONE GIRL took the #1 spot with $38 million, and ANNABELLE took the #2 spot just behind it at $37.2 million. In 3rd place was Denzel Washington’s film THE EQUALIZER with $19 million. In 4th place was BOXTROLLS dropping only 28% from its opening week for $12.4 million dollars, and rounding out the top was THE MAZE RUNNER continuing its strong run with $12 million.
