Rosenfelt talked about the role of a producer in films. He emphasized the importance of pre-production and discussed the difference in how he approaches a project that he helps develop from the outset versus being brought on as a hired gun.

As a fan of Home Alone, I had to ask a few behind the scenes questions of that project. But I also got him to talk about the financing and distribution challenges facing today’s indie filmmaker.
