Welcome to the season 2 finale of Inside Horror! We had a great show and can’t wait to return for season 3! (I did notice Elric and Bekah kept saying, “Hopefully, Season 3…” Hm. Do they know something I don’t? At any rate…)
In honor of our guest we each counted down our own favorite Bad movies or Guilty Pleasures. I must confess, I have never seen either of my co-hosts’ picks! Bekah chose a Larry Cohen film I’ve seen and watched many clips from, called Q The Winged Serpent. Elric’s choice was Society, a Brian Yuzna film which I may actually have seen, but then blocked from my memory.
My own favorite guilty pleasure is unforgettable: It’s called Pieces, and is a gore and schlock fest from 1982, about a serial killer who, as a child was obsessed with Humpty Dumpty and jigsaw puzzles — so naturally, when he grows up to be a serial killer, he recreates his peccadilloes using the bodies of real, live (but not for long) women.
When it comes to good movies, new ones, we did not get a chance to discuss the best horror film I’ve seen all year, Killer Joe. I just caught it at the Los Angeles Film Festival, with director William Friedkin in attendance, and I was really blown away. For more details, please read my review over at horror.com.
We touched on the Fango Feed, with Bekah sharing some news from the Fangoria website —
* Sinister trailer hits
* Details on the new Total Recall
* Hammer Starts on the Quiet Ones
* Poster for V/H/S debut
Elric talked a bit about supporting our friends at Trailers from Hell for their Kickstarter campaign, and then we got right to the goodies with the lovely, vivacious and always candid Cassandra Peterson, best-known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. We asked her about everything from her life-changing experiences with Elvis Pressley, to working with Fellini on Roma, to crazy fan experiences, and even the house she once lived in which is haunted by not one or two, but three ghosts!
Check out our video now, and come back for some great behind the scenes photos and more about how you can help Elvira get her star on Hollywood Boulevard!
